DAMP SURVEYS, WATER LEAK INVESTIGATION & FAULT FINDING
Non-destructive and invasive investigation of property issues, from service issues (electrical, gas, drainage and water) and fault finding through to damp and structural engineering reports by our PCA (Property Care Association) accredited surveyors. Our technicians are trained to use Buckleys (UVRAL) roof leak detectors. We also carry out water ingress testing using the approved code from the CWCT. We implement Infrared cameras as well as the pressure testing of drainage and plumbing services to ensure we find and solve your property problems swiftly. Where property preservation treatments were required, the incidence and extent of infestation will be identified by the use of non-destructive and destructive testing and measurement, including but not limited to the identification of wood boring beetle, calcium carbide testing of masonry substrates, chloride and nitrate testing of plaster/masonry. Concrete cover testing of steel reinforcement. Concrete (Schmidt) hammer testing of spalled, or areas affected by carbonation to assess extent of deterioration. Appropriate measures are put in place should any issues be identified, with further investigation as to the extent of damage being given to areas affected.
DAMP PROOFING & TANKING
From residential property through to commercial and civil structures in rail and marine environments, we have the solutions to ensure your property assets remain dry, damp free, safe and fit for purpose. All of our damp proofing is carried out to BS6576 & BS8102. Following initial survey by our PCA trained surveyors, remedial damp proofing treatments may be required. As there is no such thing as a single 'fix-all' solution, each and every property is unique, and may suffer from differing source(s) of moisture issues. However the use of below ground cement based ‘Type A’ systems may be implemented as well as internally applied salt inhibiting internal renders (above ground) in conjunction with the insertion of a physical or chemical DPC. Where moisture ingress is noted as being caused by penetrating moisture, the defect will be recorded and repaired following review and agreement with the client, such as defective rainwater pipework/roofing/spalled brickwork/defective pointing and other similar dilapidated elements.

Flood Alleviation, Land Drainage Installation inc SuDs & Percolation Testing Solutions

In recent years the UK has suffered a number of devastating flood events. We can help alleviate the problems associated with flooding from the installation of traditional soakaways and the modern day equivalent of attenuation cells to reduce the effects of surface flooding. We also install sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDs), which mimic nature and typically manage rainfall close to where it falls.
We can carry out percolation testing and the associated calculations necessary to assess the drainage of sub-soils as given by the Building research Establishment 'BRE 365 Soakaway Testing' document before any drainage is installed to save time and money should a given site not be suitable for the creation of a soakaway. There is no need to contact your local council for such an installation as part of the planning process.

Site Investigation & Geotechnical Analysis of Sub-Soils

Our teams specialise in the excavation of trial pits and applying borehole technologies to assess the soil sub-strata, groundwater and root identification deep below ground. We have access to a leading network of UK based laboratories to provide you with an accurate analysis of your site.
Our experienced geotechnical engineers undertake site investigations primarily for the purpose of assessing subsidence claims.
In a Subsidence scenario, the investigation is undertaken to determine the likely cause of the movement, with recommendations regards to appropriate methods of stabilising the structure along with future repair solutions will be given.
In order to make the above assessments, we utilise hand excavated trial pits, hand augured boreholes, shell and auger drilling apparatus, modified window sampling rigs (capable of drilling to ten metres), a complete laboratory service including root identification analysis and geotechnical consultancy work.
